Before the end of the calendar year, questions always arise that we want to answer with this article. For example: Are there any changes to the contribution rates? How is a new financial year opened? Which lists have to be printed and archived?
Check settled year
Check the settlements in 2021: Have all employees been fully settled? Are all agreed wage components and deductions included? The annual journal ("Evaluations - Settlement - Annual Journal") provides a good overview for this.
In addition, the parameters for the wage statements ("Employees - Wage statement") should be checked and adjusted if necessary. Adjustments for the 2021 wage statement must be made before the final December statement.
If you use booking to the financial accounting / AbaNinja, carry out the bookings for all outstanding months.
.
Create evaluations / reports
The following reports should be printed and/or downloaded as a PDF at the end of the year. Make sure that all months including December have been fully settled and have the status "Definitive" or " Booked".
"Evaluations - National Evaluations"
- OASI wage statement (in the "List" parameter, you can choose between the output of OASI-liable or OASI-exempt employees)
- FAF settlement
- AI settlement
- SAI settlement
- DSA settlement
- Withholding text settlement
- Wage statements
- Annual journal (the evaluation corresponds 1:1 to the payroll account, which can also be accessed via "Evaluations - Revision")
Electronic submission (ELM) is not yet possible for the financial year 2021.
AbaSalary is backed up by the system on a daily basis. Nevertheless, we recommend saving important documents locally in PDF format for archiving purposes.
Open new year
The new year is automatically opened as soon as you select a month in 2022 in the statement for the first time. No year-end closing has to be carried out for the year 2021. With the final processing of the month of December, the old year is automatically protected against unintentional changes.
Normally, two years are open in AbaSalary, unless the system start was only one year ago. This means that certain corrections for the previous year are still possible in the transition to the new year.
Closed years (2020, if available) no longer allow any processing and can also no longer be reopened! The open payroll years can be seen in the month selection in the "Settlement" area.
Verify master data in new year
Check the following
The administrative cost contributions and FAF contributions must be adjusted depending on the insurance contract and canton according to the information provided by the compensation offices.
The accident insurance contribution rates may change depending on the insurance contract. Your insurance company will inform you of any changes. The new values should be recorded on a new timeline valid from January 2022.
Personal salary and employee data may change (due to salary increases, position changes or changes to the level of employment). Note that such changes may also have an impact on LOB contributions for employers and employees.
There are changes to family allowances in the canton of VD: The child allowance from the 3rd child onwards is reduced from CHF 380 to CHF 340. Employees who already receive allowances for more than 2 children must be adjusted. As a result of grandfathering (right of continuance), the allowance should be changed from the 3rd child to a "fixed amount" of CHF 380 so that the system does not calculate the new value.
Automatic
The withholding tax rates for 2022 are stored in the system. The following cantons have deviations from the 2021 rates: AG, FR, GE, GL, JU, NE, SG, SH, SZ, TG, UR, VD, ZG (as of 23.02.). Further changes are not excluded. We update the tariffs regularly and recommend that you calculate your salary in January shortly before the salary date in order to have the most up-to-date values possible.
The family allowance rates stored in the system are updated automatically if necessary. A change in the canton VD from 1.1.2022 may require a manual adjustment.
This article will be updated regularly and we will inform you of any changes at short notice (QST, family allowances, etc.).
