In today's digital world, online account security is more important than ever. Two-factor authentication (2FA) provides an extra layer of security for Swiss21 users by requiring two types of verification before accessing an account. This article will guide you through the simple steps to set up 2FA.
Installation :
- Log on to the Swiss21 portal and go to Settings > User and then click on "2-step verification".
- Install one of the following applications on your smartphone (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or FreeOTP).
- Open the application installed on your smartphone and use it to scan the QR code on the installation page (https://login.swiss21.org/realms/common/account/totp). This will associate your account with the 2FA application.
- After scanning the QR code, your application will generate a verification code. Enter this code in the space provided (unique password). Then give your smartphone a name and click save to finalise activation of the 2FA.
Congratulations! You have now added extra security to your account. From now on, every time you log in, in addition to your password, you'll have to enter a code generated by your 2FA application. This protects your account even if someone manages to find out your password.
Deleting or losing your smartphone :
If you no longer wish to have two-step verification, simply go to settings > user and then click on "2-step verification". Here you can simply click on the little bin to remove two-step verification.
If you lose your device, please contact support directly (https://helpdesk.swiss21.org/hc/fr/requests/new) to verify your identity and regain access to your account. Our support team will be happy to help you.
