This article deals with the child and education allowances that must be entered in the employee's "Partner and children - Children" section. Information including last name, first name, social security number, gender, date of birth and tax relevance are important.
Once the child's date of birth has been entered, the start and end dates of the child allowance are automatically proposed, but this is only a suggestion! The number of years in which the allowance is paid is defined in the FamZG (Family Allowance Act) . For the education allowance, on the other hand, there is no date suggestion and the period must be entered manually depending on the child's situation.
Amount of the allowance
The fund will also tell you the amounts of the allowances and these can be configured in the "Mode" drop-down list as follows:
- Amount according to cantonal table: "Determine automatically".
AbaSalary automatically applies the amounts from the cantonal tables.
- Difference: fixed amount, it is entered under "Value".
If your employee receives only part of the allowance, for example, if the difference from one canton to another must be compensated.
- Receives no allowance: fixed amount under "Value" : 0.00 CHF
If the allowance is not received by your employee, but by his/her partner or another case.
Often, the decision on the granting of child allowances only arrives later. During this time, the allowances are not paid out. As soon as the positive decision regarding child allowances is received, the amount that the employee did not receive between the application and the decision must first be entered. As a result, a correction of the family allowance must be entered in the employee's payroll accounting with the wage type "Corr. child allowances".
