The calculation bases for the maximum and minimum amounts are set up under Employees - Insurance - OASI:
What is the purpose of setting up the OASI settlement type?
1. do not check the annual minimum: The social insurance contributions for OASI/DI/EO and UI are calculated from the first franc that is subject to contributions.
2. check annual minimum: this setting can be used to check whether the minimum contribution has been reached. If this is not the case, OASI is not (yet) calculated, but only when the minimum contribution (CHF 514.- rate 2023) is exceeded.
Our recommendation => do not check the annual minimum.
What is the "Maximum wage calculation method" setting used for?
The calculation basis "Monthly" or "Yearly" depends on the calculation method you want. As with the OASI calculation for pensioners, this would be CHF 1,400 per month or CHF 16,800 per year.
These adjustments must be made at the beginning of the year or when the employee joins the company. Under no circumstances may these changes be made during the course of the year, as this would lead to problems with the cumulative social insurance calculations
To view the calculation basis for social insurance for the year, you must consult the annual employee journal. This document only takes into account the months that have been definitively processed.
To determine the minimum and maximum social insurance amounts, you will find a table with all rates for the respective year under "Company - Insurance - Show calculation values".
