General
1. Recurring invoices, templates and products – optional customisation of product VAT rates
If there are products, recurring invoices or templates that have defined VAT rates (7.7%, 3.7% and 2.5%) valid up to and including 31 December 2023 for the products, there is the option to change these VAT rates to the new VAT rates (8.1%, 3.8% and 2.6%) valid from 1 January 2024. If the changeover is carried out, all VAT rates will be replaced accordingly.
Requirement:

Settings
2. Email dispatch – personalize email design
Under Settings > Customers > Sending emails > Mail designer, you can customise the email templates for sending offers, orders, invoices, etc. It is now possible to personalise the emails for the corresponding customer documents.
Requirement:
- This function is only available with a paid subscription.
3. Accounting – VAT – Additional VAT rate for the balance/flat rate method
If the balance/flat rate VAT method is used, it is now possible to define several reduced balance/flat rates under Settings > Accounting > VAT > VAT period. The corresponding tax will be displayed on the VAT form from 01.01.2024 under 2nd rate (item 333).
Requirement:
- This function is only available with a paid subscription.
4. Accounting – Business year – Carry over balances
Under Settings > Accounting > Financial years, there is a new selection "Carry over balances from previous year" for each financial year, which transfers the current account balances from the previous year to the balances carried forward for the selected financial year. The action can be carried out several times for open financial years.
Requirement:
- This function is only available with a paid subscription.
5. General – Layout options
Under Settings > General > Layout options, the number of entries per page for the lists can be defined and the device design can be customised.
If the entries per page are set to 50, for example, a maximum of 50 invoices are displayed per page for an invoice list.
Customers
6. Customer documents – Document history
In customer documents such as offers, orders, invoices, etc., a document history now shows how the various customer documents are related. For example, you can see at a glance from which offer the corresponding invoice was created and whether a delivery note or order also belongs to it.
Requirement:
- This function is only available with a paid subscription.
Finances
7. Payments – New payment types
Three new types of payment are available for payments: loss on receivables, private and current account. Individual account proposals can be defined for the corresponding payment types under Settings - Accounting - Account proposals.
Requirement:
- The private and current account payment methods are only available with a paid subscription.
8. Banking – Bank interface bLink
Under Finances > Banking, over 70 bank connections enable a link with AbaNinja so that data can be synchronised automatically between e-banking and accounting. On the one hand, payment orders are transferred directly from AbaNinja to e-banking and only need to be authorised. On the other hand, account transactions can be retrieved and automatically reconciled in AbaNinja with the open documents (customer invoices, customer credit notes and supplier invoices).
We are very pleased that we have been able to implement the bLink Bank interface from SIX Group. This gives you additional bank connections so that you can permanently connect them to AbaNinja. In order to connect a bank via bLink, 2-Factor Authentification is mandatory. After setting up 2-factor authentication, you must first log out and log in again to continue the connection.
The following banks are supported with bLink:
- Acrevis Bank
- Berner Kantonalbank
- Zuger Kantonalbank
- Zurich Cantonal Bank
- UBS (expected January 2024)
Accounting
9. Report – OI List – Open items per customer
Under Accounting > Report > Open items there is a new option to create a PDF report for the respective customer. The PDF icon can be used to easily create an account statement with the open items for each customer.
Requirement:
- This function is only available with a paid subscription.
